Communiqué 10042010-0014
Bern, 25th Rabi 'ath-Thaani 1431 / 10th April 2010
(qi) The second extraordinary general assembly of the Islamic Central Council of Switzerland (ICCS) met today in Bern (Hotel Kreuz), and adopted the following resolutions:
Changes on the Board
> Mounir el Younsi already declared on 9th of January 2010 his resignation request from the Department of Engineering. This request has now been met. The technical department was with the resignation of El Younsi also repealed. > The Head of Department for Da'wa (information stands), Kilian Camponovo, is replaced by mutual agreement due to his high workload by Abdurrahim S. > The Finance Ministry is redefined. New the Minister of Finance is only responsible for the preparation of the yearly final account and the fund-raising projects. > Newly established is now a General Secretariat, which is from now on looking after the members management and care. Furthermore, the Secretary-General Naim Cherni, is writing the Protocol on the General Assembly and supervises the office works. > Also newly established is the Department of Women's Affairs. The lead is taken by Nora Illi. By this the first time since the founding of the Islamic Central Council of Switzerland (ICCS) also a woman is represented in the six-member board. > The Departments of Public Relations and Information as well as Event Management and Seminaries are being confirmed unanimously and will remain occupied by Abdel Azziz Qaasim Illi or Abduljdzeljilj Ese.
New institutions
> Newly established were the Presidential Staffs. A staff is directly imputed to the president, active member (with GA-voting right) and contributes with advice on all important decisions. Oscar A.M. Bergamin will take over immediately the Staff for Public Diplomacy. Abdel Azziz Qaasim Illi was appointed in addition to his charge as a public relations and information director also to the Staff for Strategy and Development. > Newly established was also the Council of Ambassadors, which will constitute a permanent body to represent ethnic and Islamic communities in the Central Council. The goal is that members of various communities who will be appointed at a later meeting on the one hand communicate with each other and on the other hand enter into continuous communication with the board of the Central Council. This enables a further strengthening of the information flow between Central Council and base.
Changes in the active members
Mounir el Younsi and another active member are fare welled by their own request. > Newly recorded are nine active members. Six women and three men. Thus the ICCS has translated into action its promise to involve actively in today's GA also women. We had always stressed that we do not exclude women. Rather, the interest on the part of women was not noticeably present at the beginning. This has now changed to our delight. All six women were thus included unopposed and with no abstentions.
Further Subjects
> The membership fees for the year 2011 were fixed new as follows: Passive CHF 50.-, Active CHF 100.- > The GA approved the establishment of a representative business office in Bern by the summer of 2010, and agreed with the necessary funds. In accordance to the changes the bylaws have been revised. The revision of all the points was decided unanimously. The revised bylaws will be made available on the website of the ICCS as soon as possible.
In summary it can be stated that the ICCS counts now 34 active members, from which seven are in the board, and one is a chief of staff directly imputed to the president.
